Porcelain Veneers

Dental veneers are wafer-thin, tooth-colored shells that are bonded to the front part of the teeth. They help to get rid of cavities, discoloration, misalignment, and other oral concerns. Porcelain veneers are popular as they resemble the natural enamel of the teeth.

Why Would You Need Porcelain Veneers?

Porcelain veneers help to get rid of several dental issues such as:

– Chipped or cracked teeth due to injury or trauma

– Teeth that have been stained due to excessive consumption of alcohol and tobacco

– Misaligned or uneven teeth

What Is the Procedure Involved in Getting Porcelain Veneers?

You can visit our dental practice for a preliminary consultation where our dentist will conduct a thorough diagnosis and discuss your requirements with you. We use an X-ray machine for this purpose. Our dentist will then prepare your teeth for bonding by removing a thin layer of enamel from them. This will give space for the porcelain veneer to bond with your teeth.

We will then take precise measurements and digital impressions of your teeth by using a hand-held scanning device. The data from these impressions will be sent to a dental laboratory for fabricating your porcelain veneer. This may take one to two weeks. During the next consultation, we will bond the newly fabricated veneer to your teeth using dental adhesives. We will then check its fit and polish it so that it matches with the color of your natural enamel.

Aftercare for Porcelain Veneers

Taking good care of your porcelain veneer is important as it helps them last longer without cracking or chipping. You should brush and floss your teeth regularly to keep away plaque and tartar deposits. Use a soft-bristle toothbrush as hard-bristle ones can harm your porcelain veneer. You should visit us for regular dental consultations as it allows us to check for any signs of wear or damage and replace them with a new one if necessary.
